Air traffic management system upgrade: Sen. Grace Poe, chairperson of the Committee on Public Services, asks officials of Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines if the air traffic management system (ATM) has already been upgraded, noting that the delay in the upgrade was due to the dispute between the Department of Transportation and Sumitomo-Thales. “Was the dispute resolved already, was the (ATM) software been upgraded?” Poe asked, adding that it was Sumitomo – Thales who recommended the yearly upgrading of the software to keep up with international standards. The senator was informed that CAAP and Thales have already signed a contract for software upgrade and it will take until September of this year to complete the upgrade. (Office of Sen.
