HYGIENE AND SANITATION: Senator Richard J. Gordon, chairman of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), visited H. Bautista Elementary School in Marikina where he placed ten of the 100 portable toilets donated by Bert Lina of Air Freight 2100 during the relief distribution. During the clean up drive he spearheaded to prevent the outbreak of diseases in the evacuation centers, Gordon said that the PNRC is also working on building more permanent toilets in schools so that there would be sufficient toilets for students. The senator noted that the national average in public elementary schools is one toilet bowl for every 151 students.
