HOMECOMING IN MINDANAO: Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada describes as “homecoming” his attendance in the 2012 Mindanao Island Conference of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines held in Cagayan de Oro City last August 30. Sen. Estrada served as the league president from 1998 to 2001, when he was Mayor of San Juan City. Awarding the plaque of appreciation for Sen. Estrada is LMP president Mayor Donato Marcos of Paombong, Bulacan. In his speech, Sen. Estrada says that as a legislator he is committed to the development of municipalities especially in Mindanao, as former president Joseph Estrada has always considered Mindanao as a “land of promise.”
