COCO LEVY TRUST FUND: Sen. Cynthia Villar, chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, during a dialogue with the so-called KM71 at the Senate, gave the assurance that the law creating a coco levy trust fund will be passed in early 2015. The coconut farmers marched from as far as Davao City to push for the establishment of the trust fund that will help develop the coconut industry and to provide assistance to the more than 3.5 million coconut farmers in the country.
