Sotto: Continuous Education for Police Personnel: Senate President Vicente Sotto III raises his concern for the continuous education of lawyers serving under the Philippine National Police (PNP) and police personnel during the plenary deliberation on the proposed 2021 budget of the Department of the Interior and Local Government amounting to P244 billion Tuesday, November 17, 2020. “Does the PNP have a similar program for the continuous training and education of PNP personnel to keep them abreast with the new laws and other cases?” Sotto asked. He also pushed for better training of police personnel, particularly those under the Anti-Carnapping Task Force and the PNP-Highway Patrol Group, after showing a video clip of a shooting incident where one officer was shot dead by a suspected carnapper in Cavite.
