Prioritizing the Budget: Sen. Richard Gordon, in his manifestation during the hybrid plenary deliberations on the proposed 2021 budget of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Tuesday, November 17, 2020, said the agency’s budget should be approached wholly and prioritize it within its charter. “We should allow them to schedule a priority so that they can give the fund immediately,” Gordon said. The senator also noted that in the coming months, there will be “wild, wild” supertyphoons and “we should give them (DSWD people) all the encouragement to continue funneling the money that is needed so that our people can have food, clothes and all the things that they need.” (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
