Senate oks bill improving the confirmation of imperfect titles: The Senate, during the hybrid plenary session Tuesday, December 15, 2020, approves on third reading Senate Bill 1931 or an Act Improving the Confirmation of Imperfect Titles Amending for the Purpose Presidential Decree no. 1529, Commonwealth Act No. 141, and Republic Act No. 9176 to allow the continuous titling of public alienable and disposable agricultural lands beyond December 31, 2020. Sen. Richard Gordon, principal sponsor of the bill, said the bill simplifies the procedure and requirements in granting land deeds to help rural farmers and those who are unable to afford legal representation to secure land titles.
