A champ for the differently abled: Sen. Richard Gordon, in a hybrid plenary session Tuesday, November 9, 2021, asked that he be made co-author and co-sponsor of Senate Resolution No. 826 honoring the late Manuel “Noli” Agcaoili for his selfless dedication to the welfare and empowerment of persons with disability. Gordon said Agcaoili was a good friend of his and his wife and they shared the same vision for the disabled. “He was a champion par excellence of the differently abled. Certainly, a champ for those who contracted polio. In the Red Cross, he was always whispering behind my ear on how we could fight polio in this country…(polio) staged a comeback during the last two years and we enthusiastically embarked on inoculating, providing drops (of anti-polio) … especially for children in Mindanao and some parts of the Visayas,” Gordon said.
