E-Communication in int’l contracts: Sen. Francis “Tol” Tolentino, during Wednesday’s hybrid plenary session, pushes for the Senate concurrence in the ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement during the interpellation period on Senate Resolution No. 963. Tolentino cited Article 12.10 of the agreement which mandates members to adopt or maintain a legal framework governing electronic transactions. “I reiterate the importance of the convention on the use of electronic communications in international contracts because this was mentioned in RCEP, Article 12.10. And we are still not a signatory to this very vital convention. So, while the wording was taking into account to that effect, I think this is a very vital convention that we should be a part of,” Tolentino said. (Voltaire F. Domingo/Senate PRIB)
