'National Baptist Day': Sen. Win Gatchalian presides over the Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture's hybrid hearing Thursday, January 27, 2022, on bills seeking to declare January 16 of every year as a special working holiday to be called the "National Baptist Day". Manila 6th district representative and Deputy Speaker Bienvenido "Benny" Abante said the proposal, which was already approved in the House of Representatives on third and final reading, would serve as a recognition of the Baptist community in the Philippines and "how they have helped the government in various ways."
