Philippine Senate and Vietnam National Assembly hold milestone bilateral meeting: On 23 November 2022, the Philippine Senate led by Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri together with 12 other Senators held a bilateral meeting with the National Assembly of Vietnam headed by its President, His Excellency Vuong Dinh Hue, at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Zubiri highlighted the Philippines’ Strategic Partnership with Vietnam and the need for both countries to work closer together at a more comprehensive level. President Hue assured the Senate that Vietnam is ready to strengthen its support to the Philippines, especially in maritime security and defense, climate action and disaster management, agriculture and fishing, as well as in trade and investment. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to address common challenges in the region and further collaborate and strengthen parliamentary dialogue and exchanges between the Philippines and Vietnam.
