STATEMENT OF SEN. PIMENTEL ON
NORTH KOREAS NUCLEAR PROGRAM

The launching of North Koreas Taepodong-2 Missile on June 4 at 5:10 p.m. (US time) raises the level of tension in our region. The government would do well to contribute its share towards removing the possible causes of a nuclear war in the Korean peninsula.

It is to our best interests that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should use her connections with the United States and Japan to urge caution and calm in dealing with the problem.
