Ati-atihan is one of the most anticipated festivals in Kalibo, Aklan - bringing with it joy and happiness among our fellow Aklanons and the rest of the Filipino nation.

As we observe this joyous occasion, which highlights the barter between the Atis and the Bornean datus, let us turn the hard work and perseverance to make this festival a reality into a pillar to help our fellow Filipinos rise from the ashes of devastation last year.

May this festival also serve as a venue to further strengthen the camaraderie, friendship and goodwill among us Filipinos and foreigners alike.

The power of prayer through our collective faith to the Sto. Nino puts us all into a common spiritual ground to celebrate life.
