Pacquiao victory reflects Filipino courage and resilience -- Koko

Multiple world champion Manny Pacquiao's convincing win on Sunday over Timonthy Bradley showcased the Filipinos' heroic qualities of resilience and courage to survive the worst adversity or challenge, Senator Aquilino Pimentel III said.

"This is the Filipino fighting back from adversity at his best," Pimentel said. "Manny typifies our people's determination to rebuild our lives from so much destruction and misfortune."

Pimentel conveyed his congratulations to the 35-year-old Pacquiao, who outpointed Bradley in an epic rematch that had the Filipino leading way ahead in all the three judges' scorecards.

"You have brought honor to our people, and this win is especially sweet, because it comes as an inspiration to us all," Pimentel said.

Pimentel added that the euphoria created by his fascinating win would inspire no end his avid fans in Mindanao where he is revered as a legend.

The senator from Mindanao said that because of Pacquiao's victory, which avenged a controversial upset loss to Bradley in their first encounter, the "world has taken notice of our redeeming qualities as a people."
