DRILON TO NOMINATE VILLAR: Senate President Franklin M. Drilon and Senator Manny B. Villar, Jr. during a joint press conference this afternoon (June 8, 2006) where the former said he will nominate Villar as next Senate President on July 24 when the Third Regular Session of the 13th Congress begins. Villar, while saying its too early to make further comments on the Senate presidency issue, said that if he assumed the role, he will see to it that the Senate will maintain its independence and integrity as an institution.
