DA BUDGET HEARING: Senate Finance Committee Chairman Franklin M. Drilon listens intently as Department of Agriculture Sec. Arthur Yap defends the proposed P19.32 billion budget of his department for next year. During the budget deliberation, Drilon advised Yap to strengthen their efforts in the improvement of post-harvest facilities in order to reduce the countrys need for imported rice. The DA confirmed that due to insufficient facilities, the country loses about P8.1 billion worth of palay yearly.
