GORDON TO THE RESCUE: Senator and Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Chairman Richard J. Gordon (Ind.) rescues trapped residents, including Abigail Jose, who is on her last trimester of pregnancy, during a rescue operation in Vista Verde Homes along Felix Avenue in Cainta, Rizal that lasted from Sunday night to 3:30 am Monday. Jose gave birth to a baby girl around 11 am Monday at the Medical City. Gordon immediately mobilized Red Cross rescue operation teams when heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Ondoy” submerged several areas in Metro Manila last Saturday in the worst flooding seen in the capital in more than three decades.
