2ND PHL-KOR PARTNERSHIP FORUM: “The Philippines and the Republic of Korea have a long history of partnership, with Filipinos dedicating their lives in Korea’s struggle for freedom. I am happy to note that both our nations continue to engage in ways to improve bilateral ties. We have more to discover and understand with regard to the other nation’s ways, culture and tradition, but our openness to go beyond the partnership that we currently have will unlock more opportunities for our people and lead both our countries to a clearer path of further growth and progress,” Senator Loren Legarda, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, said during her speech at the 2nd Philippines-Korea Partnership Forum held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Makati City. Legarda gifted the organizers of the forum with various fruit-bearing seedlings and copies of her book Message of Our Times and Disaster Preparedness Handbook. In this photo, the Senator is joined by Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Laura Del Rosario; H.E. Hye Min Lee, Ambassador of Korea; Dr. Carolyn Sobritchea, Acting Dean of the UP Asian Center; and Dr. Lydia Yu Jose, Executive Director of the Ateneo Center for Asian Studies.
