WHAT’S UP CAAP?: Congressional Oversight Committee on the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (COCCAAP) Senate Panel Chairman Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. queries CAAP officials about what agency had already accomplished in order to revert the status of the country’s civil aviation to Category 1 after it was downgraded to Category 2 by the US-based Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) as well as to be finally excluded from the blacklisting by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) which in effect banned Philippine carriers from flying to and from European countries. During the en banc meeting, it was learned that CAAP has not yet fully addressed the requirements set by FAA and ICAO. Photo also shows COCCAAP House Panel Chairman Eleandro Jesus Madrona and Congressman Al Francis Bichara.
