The treaty establishes labor standards and comprehensive set of protection for all domestic workers. The Philippines became the second country to ratify the convention upon concurrence of the Senate last August. Also, an important part of the campaign is to support the passage of an enabling law on the protection of household service workers, particularly the “Batas Kasambahay,” as prescribed by ILO Convention 189.
