On Hiring of Filipinos for Construction Projects: Majority Leader Migz Zubiri expresses alarm over a Supreme Court ruling allowing the hiring of foreign contractors for construction projects in the country. The ruling, Zubiri said during a virtual hearing on the proposed P667.32 billion budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and its attached corporations for 2021 Wednesday, October 14, 2020, would displace local contractors and affect the hiring of local workers. He asked Public Works Secretary Mark Villar if he would support a measure filed by legislators limiting the participation of large foreign firms, especially on foreign personnel manning the projects.
