Make the Philippines a scientific country: Sen. Richard Gordon calls on his colleagues to support the Department of Science and Technology's (DOST) research and development program by providing more funding because it would provide the country the highway for the future. Gordon, during the hybrid budget deliberation on the proposed 2021 budget of the DOST Wednesday, November 18, 2020, noted that there should be a sustainable science and technology program in order for the country to become a nation of scientists who can compete with the “rest of the best of the world” in coming out with vaccines. “I don’t think that's an ambition that we should deprive ourselves with and that is why I am really laying the predicate so that by next year DOST should fight for a better share of the budget.
