'Do not quarantine right to vote': Sen. Risa Hontiveros joins the call to extend voter registration to October 31, 2021. In a hybrid plenary session Tuesday, September 14, 2021, Hontiveros expressed concern that the roll out of a new alert system for quarantine classification would affect voter registration which will end on Sept. 30. She said she supports the call of Sen. Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan in his privilege speech and the Senate resolution urging the postponement of the end of voter registration. Hontiveros added registration should be extended so that despite the lockdown and quarantine, the people’s right to vote, especially the first-time voters, would not be quarantined.
