Amending Migrant Filipinos Department: Sen. Richard Gordon, during Monday’s hybrid plenary session, December 6, 2021, introduces amendments to Senate Bill No. (SBN) 2234 or An Act Creating the Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos (DMWOF). One of the two amendments to the bill sponsored by Gordon was the holding of “regular, timely and relevant political and security assessment” of the conditions of the receiving country. Gordon also proposed that DOMWOF, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs, shall have “adequate evacuation plans that will be communicated with all migrant workers. They're not only for deployment purposes, but for especially, in most cases, emergencies which will require troop actions, including but not limited to, possible evacuation of our migrant workers semicolon.” Sen.
