Drilon’s amendments on DMWOF: Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, during the hybrid plenary session Monday, December 6, 2021, asks Sen. Joel Villanueva, sponsor of Senate Bill No. 2234 seeking to create the Department of Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos (DMWOF), if he is willing to accept a proposal to have his amendments read and accepted first before entertaining other amendments to the measure. According to Drilon, his amendments are quite extensive and it would be difficult to manage if other amendments would be introduced first. “May I propose that these (amendments) be read first and approved by the good sponsor, as long as it is attributed to us, and then afterward, other amendments can be introduced,” Drilon said. Villanueva accepted the proposal, adding that he would just entertain some amendments that are not in conflict with the amendment of the minority leader. (Screen grab/Senate PRIB)
