'More than just an important figure': Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian pays tribute to late business tycoon and Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) founder Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco Jr. as he co-sponsors on Monday, December 6, 2021, House Bill No. 7651. The bill seeks to declare June 10 of every year as a special non-working holiday in the province of Tarlac in commemoration of Cojuangco's birth anniversary. In his speech, Gatchalian cited Cojuangco's legacy in Philippine politics and economy. "To me, Danding Cojuangco is more than just an important figure in our national history; he was also a long-time family friend and respected mentor in public service whom I dearly miss," said the senator, who was a party mate of Cojuangco in the NPC.
