Jinggoy honors late artist Sylvia La Torre; commends Jun Lana for best film award: Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada introduces twin resolutions Monday, December 5, 2022, one expressing the profound sympathy and sincere condolences of the Senate on the death of legendary singer and actress Sylvia La Torre and another, commending movie director Jun Lana for winning the best film award in the recent 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. Estrada cited La Torre’s rich legacy of outstanding performances and recording of original Filipino music, as well as her passion and contribution to the growth and development of Philippine arts and culture. Lana’s remarkable achievement of Lana in the prestigious international film competition is yet another proof of the inherent ingenuity, creativity, and world-class talent of Filipino artists in the field of filmmaking and storytelling, Estrada said.
