DRILON MEETS NORTH KOREAN COUNTERPART: Senate President and Liberal Party head Franklin Drilon presents a gift to his North Korean counterpart, Chairman Choe Thae Bok of the Supreme People Assembly of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK), during a meeting in Pyongyang, North Korea last month. Drilon, along with Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. and Sen. Richard Gordon, visited North Korea on the invitation of Choe who attended the 112th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Manila last year. Drilon and Choe agreed that inter-parliamentary exchange visits would help in expanding diplomatic, economic and cultural relations between North Korea and the Philippines.
