READY, GET SET, GO: Senator Bong Revilla, primary author of the Mandatory Helmet Bill, firmly grips the handlebar of his cruiser as he waits for the go signal to lead the motorbikers’ motorcade in Valenzuela City last September 12. In recognition of his decade-long road safety crusade, the Cycle Riders Association of Valenzuela invited the senator to grace its 5th Cycle Safety Consciousness Program. The Mandatory Helmet Bill, which would oblige all motorcycle riders- the driver and back rider- to wear standard protective helmets, has been passed on third reading by the Senate.
