Pushing gender equality in the AFP: Sen. Risa Hontiveros commends Philippine Air Force Colonel Ma. Consuelo Castillo for being "one of the most promising female officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)," as well as other pioneering Filipinas serving in the country's armed forces, during the Commission on Appointments' (CA) Committee on National Defense hybrid hearing Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Hontiveros lauded the achievements of Castillo who is recognized as one of the Philippine Military Academy's "Magnificent Seven," saying that her efforts inspire hope for more women in top leadership positions in the AFP. "This is truly an incredible achievement especially when it comes to pushing for gender equality in the military.
