Dela Rosa ends Socorro 'cult' probe: Sen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa adjourns the public inquiry of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs into the alleged systematic rape, trafficking, forced labor, child marriage, and drug trafficking perpetrated by the Socorro "cult" Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Topics covered during the hearing included the death of more than 200 babies at Sitio Kapihan due to the alleged refusal of Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc. (SBSI) leaders to allow them to receive proper medical care in hospitals, the comprehensive integration plan for former and current members of SBSI introduced by the local government of Socorro, and the additional testimonies from victims. Before ending the proceedings, Dela Rosa presented a copy of the arrest warrant for SBSI leader Jey Rence Quilario, alias Senyor Agila, and other officials. They face various charges, including the violation of Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003. No bail was recommended by the court." (Senate PRIB photos)
